About

Current

I’m the Director of Design at Six Apart. I also teach web design at New York University.

PAST

I was the Director of User Experience at Fotolog, a photo-blogging and social media website with over 27 million members. I consulted for companies such as Ogilvy, Thomson Healthcare, and Apperceptive (now part of Six Apart), and worked on projects for Unilever, American Express, Adobe, Huffington Post, WashingtonPost.com, and Yahoo.

I started out as a reporter for a daily newspaper in Korea, went into cable TV news and became the editor for CNET Korea before going to grad school.

Education

I received my master’s degree from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program at TIsch School of the Arts. I studied biology at Ewha Women’s University.

Nonprofit

I’m currently on the board of directors of a nonprofit media arts organization called Arts Engine and volunteer for a dog rescue based in New England. I designed a site for Working Playground (now Urban Arts Partnership) and taught disadvantaged youth in a shanty town in Seoul.

Films

I produced The House of Sharing, a feature-length documentary film about former sex slaves of the Japanese Imperial Army during WWII. Another documentary about StarCraft pro-gamers in post-production.

The dogs I’m squeezing the life out of are Blue and Scout, my miniature schnauzers.
